TENDER for Installers (gas central heating, air source heat pumps and solar thermal hot water) – Pre-qualification questionnaire
December 23rd, 2009 by jonathan The deadline for submission of Installer PQQs has closed. This page is now for reference only. PLEASE NOTE: The timeline published in the original PQQ is now out of date. The deadline for the submission of the final tender will be released with the tender documentation to those companies successful at PQQ stage.
CES are tendering for companies with experience of installing gas central heating systems, air source heat pumps and solar thermal hot water systems to form a list of approved installers. CES works with partners in local authorities, housing associations and private householders on projects to install central heating systems. Our approved installers will design the heating systems and be expected to be experienced in working in both social and private housing. CES will recommend approved installers to our customers and partners. The approved installer will have a contract with the private householders and our project partners who will be social housing providers and landlords. The two regions will be sub divided and we expect to have several companies capable of installing the heating systems in each sub-region. Companies may apply for one or more technology and one or more sub-region. Being appointed to the approved list of installers does not guarantee any work from our project partners and customers. The number of anticipated heat pump installations will be up to 2,000 over two years. The number of anticipated gas central heating installations will be up to 750 over two years. The number of anticipated solar thermal installations will be up to 500 over two years. The total potential value of work is up to £10 m. However, the actual work will depend on the uptake from the addresses allocated to installers. Installers will be expected to meet minimum qualification requirements. For example, those installing heat pumps and solar thermal systems will be expected to be accredited to the microgeneration certification scheme (MCS). Organisations may apply to be a CES approved installer before they gain MCS accreditation, but no work will be passed their way until the accreditation is in place. The approved list will last for a period of two years with the possibility of two extensions of one year each. To register for the tendering process, please complete the pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) to determine your eligibility.
