A scheme which aims to fight fuel poverty across Yorkshire and Humber by connecting communities to cheaper and greener fuel supplies has been given the seal of approval from one of the Government’s most senior figures.

The MP of Pontefract and Castleford, The Right Hon Yvette Cooper MP, paid a visit to the residents of the Half Acres estate in Castleford to look at the work Community Energy Solutions (Yorkshire and Humber) has completed in the area. It is being done in conjunction with a major home improvement programme by Wakefield and District Housing (WDH).  Ms Cooper took time to talk with Sue Greenwood who lives in a WDH-owned property on Sheldrake Road in Half Acres.
